I believe that life comes in stages and phases. I thought when I went thru the empty nest symdrome I would die. But of course, here I am still kicking. It was probably one of the most difficult times in my life.
Now, dh and I are considering selling out and moving over closer to our dd. We know as we age we will need to be closer to family.
It use to be so hard for me to see my treasures break or go, but now I am ready. I have realized that things are just things and there comes a time when you realize you can't take things with you.
That is my stage in life.
Where are you?

Yep, been there done that. You having hot flashes yet? The hormone thing use to drive me nuts. Up one minute, down the next and then a screeching maniac. Do you know the age your mom went into menopause and finished. That will give you a rough estimate
Sorry, sending hugs

an occasional one....especially when TOM is approaching. Burnin' up one minute and freezin' cold the next. I do have some pres med, but hate taking it. It makes me so sleepy.....
Thanks for your sympathy. But that's ok, I know it's just a part of a woman's life. I'll get thru it! Just have to whine every now and then, kinda like an old dog...you know, just pat me on the head, acknowledge my pain, and I'll go lick myself for awhile......lol.

Deed,
Maybe what your mom is having isn't hormonal hot flashes. Remember what I told you the doctor told me mine were from? Have her check it out.

I have been menopausal for 3 years. Went from post partum depression with Amanda to menopause in 1 year. Has to be teh fastest switch on record. I was one HRT for 3 years, but after the bankruptcy I have stopped taking them to save money. So far so good, we'll see how summer goes. I am not getting as hot as I was - but that might be because it is winter and the thermostat is set at 62!
I am always moody, and I think my depression is exacerbated by the whole hormonal thing. The new Zoloft seems to be helping, although I think we still might need to tweak it a bit. I never ever dreamed when I had trouble getting pregnant at 35 that I was peri-menopausal!
My Mom went though it at 49 and my sister at 45 - so I guess I am right on time.....
