Dh told me last night that he is seriously thinking of selling ...He is disgusted with the way this neighborhood is looking...I have to agree that it has gotten really bad...I think that he is afraid that it will just get worse....I wouldn't mind moving, if we can get a good price for this house and get a bigger newer house...It is so expensive around here, it would be cheaper if we moved up to the Poconos, but that is quit a commute....and we would be far from our family and friends....What to do

How far is far Jayne.
The distance between dh's family might be a good thing. I didn't deliberately move from dh's family, they actually moved first, then we moved further, we had no choice where we went, but it has been great. Very peaceful.
My dh gets stressed thinking about moving, so it is interesting your dh wants to shift. Have you shifted much, ie changed houses? I am not very good at it, but getting better.
Talk to your daughter, if she is fine with it, go for it.

Jayne if you move into the Poconos you will be closer to me! ;D
I agree, talk it over with family, look around on the net at real estate sites, then make a decision. Good luck. {{{Jayne}}}

Doing a "pretend" sell and buy may help clarify things for you. Find out how much your house could realistically sell for, then go and look at the houses you could afford. Drive around and see what you think of the area you are interested in. Do the commute in peak hour, to see what it would really be like.
Let us know what you decide to do!

I was going to recommend the same thing. I would talk to a realtor (if you would be using one) and see what he/she thinks you could get for your house. Look around and see what would be in your budget in the areas you would consider and then give it some thought and heartfelt prayer. {{{hugs}}}

We had a long talk and we both agreed that it would not be a good idea to sell...instead we are going to look into doing an addition sometime down the road...Hopefully some of the neighbors will clean up and start to take some pride in their homes again...It would be nice to be closer to you Deed, I could come to visit ;D
