We live in a farming community, and people don't "entertain" much around here.
We occasionally have people over for dinner, and we always have our annual weiner roast/hayride. . . but no formal do's.
I'd love to start a quartly tea for some of the ladies in our church.
How about you?

Well, I guess we don't do much "entertaining". We do have friends over for supper, but they are the kind of friends that we share so much with....lifestyles, morals, etc. They are really more like family. We never lack for great conversation and lots of belly laughing. But I don't think I've ever done anything formal, except at Thanksgiving and that was mostly family.
The ladies tea sounds wonderful.

About the only enertaining we do is Daniel's friends and once a year we have a few folks over for Fireworks in July. Other than that Don is more of a "Keep to himself" kind of guy. When we were younger of course we always had friends over, for dinner parties, Friday night parties, Super Bowl bashes etc...

I think you are lovely with Daniel's friends. In this town the kids friends turn up quite alot. Not too much entertaining is done though although dd12's friend had a quick egg on toast last night.
Ours was more when we were younger too.
I was wondering where the hayride was sunshine.

Well let's see, the last time I actually entertained was a birthday cookout for Jack about 5-6 years ago. My parents and 1 niece came. Everyone had invites and no one showed up, so now we entertain ourselves.

When we lived in Michigan we entertained a great deal. It was nothing for us to have company once a week. I love to entertain, but don't much anymore due to my health. It is a lot of work. I enjoy planning a menu, and setting a pretty table.
