Don's company has put out a challenge to all of the worker and has suggested to Adopt a family for the Holiday! I think this is so neat!! There are a few stipulations however, the family cannot ask for money, and cannot be drug or alcohol users.(that's good to know)
We will be adopting a family of 4 for this year and will have them through the New Year. I am so excited about this and look forward to helping out a family in need.
Have any of you ever done this? What was your experience in it?

What a sweet and thoughtful thing to do Ellise. We did this before at our church and it was very rewarding. Have fun blessing this family.

We do this as a unit at work. The critical care units adopt a needy family from within our hospital family and we purchase gifts for the family and provide their holiday meal. We picked a member of our hospital family who was very deserving and going through a rough time last year and it was so rewarding knowing that we were helping.

As long as Daniel is happy it is a great idea.
My MIL always had international friends for Christmas Day. I am not sure if we even knew until we got there. Once it was a pair from New Guinea, another time some from China.

We've done this for many years-- Marty and I chose a local family, buy gifts for them and then have them delivered anonymously.
The kids always chose and angel from the angel tree at the bank, and purchase gifts for them.
