My house is a pit, and frankly- I'm ashamed to have people over. I had intended to invite the preacher's family to dinner, but life intervened, and now that Deana is dating their son- I'm afraid they'll think that's the only reason I invited them (lousy excuse, isn't it?)
At any rate-- I really need to get motivated to invite people over for tea, coffee, dinner- whatever.
How about you? Are you open to surprise guests? Do you invite others over frequently?

I absolutely HATE surprise guests...or "pop-ins" as I call them. My house needs a good cleaning, and I am embarrassed to have people over too. Depression makes it very tough for me to get motivated to clean sometimes.
We rarely have people over--but not really because of that. We just don't really have many that would come visit.

My dh is much more hospitable than I am. As terrible as it sounds, sometimes I think I suffer from "Let's Have Company" Syndrome Overload.
I'm not much on surprise company either.....it seems a bit rude to me. But sometimes, that's just life and I try to make the best of it. "Try" being the key word.....

We never have anyone over. I also don't feel comfortable to have visitors in my home. I have a hard time to keep up with a routine of housecleaning.

I don't mind drop in company. If they come to see me I say come on over if they come to see my home then I say make an appointment. I think I need more company, I get lonely and when I get lonely I get depressed. I wish I had more company...

I think I need more company, I get lonely and when I get lonely I get depressed. I wish I had more company... It's funny you should mention that Car. I am lonely all the time, and it would be great to have company, but I get depressed too when lonely, so that makes me not want to make the house as presentable as it could be. Then again, I don't have many people to invite over during the day anyway. Very soon you'll be near your dd, and then you won't be lonely any more, Carolyn! {{{HUGS}}}
