I finally invited our minister and his family for dinner (they are coming tonight). His wife informed me that we are the first people in the congregation to ask them over! What? ? ? ? They have been here about 1 1/2 years!
I got busy through Oct (preacher appreciation month) and the holidays) then Deana started dating the preacher's son and I didn't want them to think I was only inviting them because the kids were dating.
Now I feel bad for waiting so long. I really need to invite people over more often.
What do you serve when you have guests over for dinner? We're having:
Roast sticky chicken party potatoes cole slaw rolls with butter chocolate ice cream cake --

Denise! Good for you, girl!
Your menu sounds great to me. I usually try to fix something that will go a long way....like ham or turkey, really it depends on the number of guests we are having. In the summer, it is nearly always something we can grill, like ribs or chicken, baked beans, fresh summer veggies and homemade ice cream.
