I was just visiting with my dad on the phone, he remarked how when he was growing up they were made to take cod liver oil before going to school each day. ICK!!!! I can remember my parents only making my brother and I take it on the rare occasion..and that was bad enough. But my dad came from a family of 9 kids, each one had to take it each day, like medicine. He said that over all, they were one healthy family...didn't get polio when it went through the school. Just was wondering if anyone else remembered taking that bad tasting stuff years (and years) ago?

Yes, I quite like Hypol. I even gave some to my step-children. www.fgb.com.au/ProductProfiles/ELHypolOrigPP.htmI have got out of the way of tonics because I have done extended breastfeeding for my last two children and only really take panadol and things under the advice of my doctor.

Yup gals, that was some nasty stuff! But sometimes I think the antibiotics I've taken nowadays taste even worse if they get stuck on the roof of my mouth!

No, but I do remember my mom had an *issue* about adding milk of magnesia to our milk once a week. Umm, for some reason she thought everyone needed it.
Oh and Vicks, yuk I still detest the smell of Vicks..

The only time I took it was when I was pregnant and overdue with DS2. My grandmother convinced me that if I took it my labor would magicly start, hmmph, all it did was send me to the bathroom for an entire evening and still no baby. That is a definate old wives tale. It is funny now but it sure wasn't then.
