Anyone growing lettuce in their garden this year? If so, put a head or two aside for this lotion. Place the 1/2 a lettuce in a medium size saucepan and cover with 4 cups of water. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat. Lower the heat and simmer for 1 hour. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool completely. Strain off all solids and stir in the tincture of benzoin. Pour into a clean container. Use this lotion to cleanse your skin.
Apparently, lettuce contains vitamins, sulfur, silicon, and phosphorus... all important ingredients for maintaining a healthy complexion.
