These are just wonderful. I have seen them in stores..
Lotion bars are great if you need a heavy-duty hand and body moisturizer. No water required! To use: Hold the bar in your hands until it begins to soften, then rub on soles of the feet, knees, elbows, or wherever extra moisture is needed.
Yield 6-4 ounce bars
Ingredients
8 tbs. Unbleached beeswax (conversion: 1 tbs.=0.25 ounces) 6 tbs. Cocoa butter (conversion: 1 tbs.=0.37 ounces) 4 tbs. Shea butter 2 tbs. Coconut oil 4 tbs. Jojoba oil 20 drops Vitamin E oil (or substitute 20 drops wheat germ oil) Essential oils: 20 drops Lavender 20 drops Patchouli or sandalwood 20 drops Ylang ylang Soap mold Directions Add shea butter, cocoa butter, Jojoba oil, beeswax, and coconut oil to a glass or stainless steel double boiler. Heat until melted. Remove from heat. Allow mixture to cool until it is about as hot as bathwater*, then add Vitamin E oil (or wheat germ oil) and your three essential oils. *To prevent essential oils from breaking down, never add these oils to any mixture hotter than the hottest bathwater. Spray soap mold lightly with non-stick cooking spray, then pour mixture into mold. Allow bars to harden in mold at room temperature for several hours. If the bars are too soft, you can re-melt them and add a small amount of beeswax. If bars are too hard, add more cocoa butter. Store bars in metal tins between uses to keep free of dirt and dust.
