Do you buy your meat at the butcher? My excuse is that they don't have eftpos, but really I guess I like buying everything in one go, except for any online purchases.
I realise though that I miss out on lamb and things like that. I used to buy veal but unsure if you can get it here. I have been here about 2 1/2 years. I guess it is time to try again.
Our supermarket has limited meat, and lamb is one of the rarities there.

Butcher shops or speciality stores as we call them are pretty rare. There are 2 outside my hometown that I would love to visit, although they are pretty pricey, I think the quality of the meat would be worth it. I don't buy any meat from the supercenters here. I buy from a local mom/pop grocer.

Our supermarket is like a mom/pop grocer I think. We have an IGA out the road, it is short for independent grocers. However, ours I think now belongs to a larger chain but the same guy has his name on the door. Supermarket is just another word for grocery shop or store.
Butchers are still very popular in Australia. We have two in our tiny strip, but the bakery mainly caters for tourists and is like a cafe with milk shakes, so I found our this week.
I just thought I would explain supermarket, because they are in the super centres but also there are little ones in the small towns as well. All pretty much the same in the last year or so, they have made them more the same, which means I can buy buttermilk and other things I couldn't before.

Imagine that! The little shop I was referring to is an IGA.
