I often have a box sitting there, although the kids made some custard as a snack yesterday. Here is a recipe using custard powder. Custard CakePreparation time: 15 minutes or less Preparation time: 15 minutes or less Custard powder isn't a standard ingredient for a cake, but this one is yummy - give it a try. Ingredients 125 g margarine ½ cup milk ½ teaspoon vanilla essence 3 tablespoons custard powder 1 cup caster sugar 2 eggs 1 cup self-raising flour Pinch salt Method 1. Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a loaf tin. 2. Melt margarine, put in large bowl, add all other ingredients and beat for 3 minutes. 3. Pour mixture into prepared tin. 4. Bake in oven for 45 minutes or until skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Recipe notes You can ice this cake, just make a standard icing mixture and add custard powder.
