LOL! I have a friend who always says "I don't care if you write in my dust - just don't date it!"

I collect buttons. Nothing necessarily fancy or what have you and they're all in a tin in my sewing area, but I remember my Grandma had TONS of buttons and it brings back memories to have all those buttons of mine in a tin. I always cut the buttons off of clothes that rae not worthy of donation and keept hem. You never know when you'll need a spare button.

With you on that dust thing....lol
BR, I'm at my mom's house this morning. Wish you could see the quart jars of buttons she has. She loves to sew and has quite of collection of buttons. When my children were smaller, she would let them string buttons on thread. They loved that.

That would be lovely to see Lynn.
My husband took some off clothes too. That was quite awhile ago. I have them in little baby food jars in different colors.

I have an old button collection that belonged to my grandmother, some of the buttons in it are glass...Tammie T loves buttons as well.

I used to collect Swarovski (sp?) crystal figurines. I have about 5 or 6...then I stopped due to finances. I used to be able to ask for stuff like that for my birthday/Christmas gifts; now I ask for practical things

We do tend to get more practical as we get older. I know I sure did.

Another practical one here. Last year I asked for a magnolia tree for mothers day. LOL
I felt like I hit the jackpot last week though. I was out at my grandparents old farmhouse helping my dad sort thru some of their belongings. He got a box and told me to fill if with anything I wanted! I chose 2 old glass beverage pitchers, an old set of glass tumblers, a china teapot, a pair of silver and crystal salt and pepper shakers, a decorative fruit plate, and some glass dessert dishes. My mother gave me a set of dishes that belonged to her mother and a huge old trunk that belonged to one of her aunts. I am so happy with my "treasures."
I love collections passed down thru the generations. What gifts of love and legacy they become.
