She lives in Lake Charles, LA-- Rita is headed right for her. I know that she had taken in several Katrina refugees too. I've been unable to contact her mom or sister to see if she managed to relocate.
It was expected to come ashore early Saturday on a course that could spare Houston and Galveston but slam the oil refining towns of Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas, and Lake Charles, La., with a 20-foot storm surge, towering waves and up to 25 inches of rain.

I finally got hold of her sister this morning. Tonya (my cousin from LA) is in Little Rock AK with her inlaws. They packed up their truck, kids and dogs and headed out before most everyone else did-- so they had gas, etc. They are now waiting to hear if they have a house to return to. . .. they own a huge historical house with a cottage . .
Thank you for your prayers. . . .I'm still praying for everyone in the gulf coast region.

Let's hope their lovely home is ok. So many tragedies lately. Sure makes me take stock and be thankful.
