Joey came home today, and while I am THRILLED to have him home, I am worried that he's not eating. The vet told me that he absolutely has to have protein and calories so his body has the strength/energy to repair itself. She told me to feed him via syringe if he hadn't eaten anything by the afternoon. He hasn't, so I tried to give him the food. He took about 2 ml (which includes the water that was used to thin the food). When I tried to go in for another "dose", he twisted his head really fast, knocked out the syringe, and we both ended up wearing it. So my request for prayers is that he'll eat. I can't afford to have more surgery for him either, so if you'll pray for that as well, I'd really appreciate it. This whole mess cost us $1,700. I don't have a job right now (been looking for one for a while now), and we really can't afford this or any more expense. Add to all of that the fact that Dave is not an animal lover and really didn't like Joey too much to begin with. He's not pleased about the cost of this, and if it had been his choice, he wouldn't have had the surgery done.

Aww sweetie, I am praying for Joey and your family. That is a horrible expense but Joey is worth it. He will eat, I just know he will. Keep us posted.

Joey still isn't eating like he should be, and I'm so upset and frustrated. I will need to bring him back to the vet tomorrow, which in itself is stressing me out, because Dave is already upset with me for spending so much money to make him well again.
I'd really appreciate your prayers. I'm at the point of a nervous breakdown here.
