To my sisters who believe in the power of prayer, I come to you now asking you to pray for Mary Pope. Mary is the mother in law of my daughter Tami or as most of you know her on the list as tmrpope (she does the Gazette).
About three years ago Mary was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had radiation and chemo and they said it wasn't in her lymph glands, well apparently it was....as down the road around a year, she developed a tumor on her lung which is also cancerous and inoperable. Mary took radiation to try to shrink that but to no avail. Now, the cancer has spread to her esophagus. It has wrapped itself around her esophagus. The doctors said they couldn't do much for her but buy her a little more time. She has been taking radiation and I believe chemo again as well.
Mary was admitted to the hospital today as her lungs filled up with fluid and one of them collapsed. They are going to put a chest tube in to drain the fluid, and try to reinflate the lung. Also they are going to use some new adhesive to try to glue her lung to her chest wall so it will stay inflated and hopefully not fill up again.
As you can imagine Tami and David and their entire family are totally devastated. If you would all join me in praying for the family and for God's will for Mary.
I appreciate you all so much and I cannot tell you how sad it is for me to know that my grandchildren's first experience with death will probably be that of their sweet lovely grandmother Mary. It just breaks my heart. The children are only 10 and 5.
Thanks prayer warriors.
