I have a bunch of cats outside I take care of that people dumped off, most have been around a long time. Anyway, I have this one white female that I have never named, but I did this morning. She is now called Klepto! The other day she stole a baby kitten right out from under the mama's nose and ran off with it and this morning she tried to do it again with my buddy Tria's baby! I caught her in time but when I went to check on Tria's other babies there was only 1 there. She had 3 yesterday and now only has 2 so I'm betting Mrs. Klepto already snatched one. I don't know why she is doing this other than maybe her litter died? She was pregnant about a month ago and now isn't. I haven't seen her with any babies of her own, but that isn't abnormal. They are a tad young yet for most of the mom's to bring them around the house. Anyone know why she might be doing this?

Aww Dee, that is sad. I bet it is because she lost her litter. She won't hurt the baby will she? Her momma instinct is probably in over drive..

Oh no, I don't think she will hurt the baby. Matter of fact, my Audra is one of hers from last year, she was a great mommy. I don't know where the babies are that she stole though, she took them up to the neighbors (the one that had the fire a few weeks ago). I won't go up there looking for them but she should bring them around soon, they are just about a month old now. I hope she does anyway! Crazy Cat!

Can she nurse them, or is she dried up? I hope she brings them back in time to eat..

I can see teats on her, so I think she can nurse. Most of the outside cats won't let me near them close enough to pet. I'm only good for feeding them. LOL

How is the other mother dealing with the uhh, Kittynaping? I guess if nothing else then you will have kittens that are nice and fat being fed by two mommas.
I know it is common in dogs to take anothers pups just never heard of cats doing it.
