I bought Don 3 roses bushes from Lowe's Saturday $6.00 each I can't wait until he plants them. Meantime they are sitting in very nice planters.
How often should I feed them? Someone said every 2 weeks is that right? It just seems too often to me.

Ellise~
Oh, new roses...pretty. What ones did you choose?
I feed my roses the food that is three months slow release formula.
If you use something like Miracle Grow you can feed them as directed on the labell which I believe is ever two weeks.
Enjoy and do show us some pictures.

ooh! What a deal. Did you take pictures? I love roses, but here the japanese beetles are so bad that I won't waste my money on "beetle food" lol. Hopefully the next place we move to I can grow them.

Wow, great deal Ellise! Can't wait to see them! I have a hard enough time with easy things to grow, don't think I'll be trying roses anytime soon.

Dee~
Really everyone can grow roses, they love attention, water, and lots of room. The only trouble I have with mine, well for the most part, is the leaves getting black mold on them and falling off. Spraying regularly will help this.
Try a climbing rose..They are less fussy..Just plant and give it a place to climb against and keep it watered and fed.
A wild rose would be even easier to grow. Do you have wildroses along the roads or in feilds there?

Great thread.
They love being out in the open, lots of sunshine and air.

We get them in plastic sleeves in winter here, ie July. It was really just a stick, but I thought I would like it.
