a much easier way to plant seeds in long rows. It saves your back from all the bending. Start with a 1-inch PVC pipe, at least 5 feet long (depending on your height). Draw circles around the end with a permanent black marker at 1/2-inch, 1-inch, 1 1/2-inch, and 2-inch intervals. After you have your rows ready to plant, walk alongside it with your pole in hand, punching holes in the ground to the appropriate depth. Drop in the seed and use the end of the pole to push dirt back over it. This is even easier on the back than sitting and bending. And it's much faster!
