It looks pretty with the house and the mountains. Our neighbours house has a blue roof and the white fruit blossoms each year with the mountain behind are beautiful.
There is a popular white rose in Australia, a standard, I have forgotten its name just at the moment. It is not pretty just blooms alot.

Thanks BR. We sent out daughter from Texas home with one that was like this only red in colour. We weren't sure if it would do well in Texas weather. I believe it took over her entire section of privacy fencing and was just as lovely.

When we first came here there was one like that behind our neighbours fence in a spare block. It was a real sight when I first saw it. Amazing.
We took a cutting of a wild looking, should read strong growing, red rose and planted it at our first house, it was very cheerful.

Don't you just love roses.. Dh and I planted many here at this house. But this season we lost 4 bushes. Not sure why. They either didn't come back or they started new leaves and then just died. Didn't appear to have insects on them or to have the blight..
Guess we will replant next season.

That happens doesn't it? I expected my apricot nectar one to do that but it kept going and was pretty. It was in a bag at the shop with not much going for it.
Maybe there was wet clay, I remember planting one into it and it died. But I'm sure it could happen without an obvious reason.
I have some new gifted ones, they all seem to be getting leaves quicker this year, I remember last year waiting and waiting to see what my new gift roses looked like.
Before that in our rented temporary home I also was waiting for the roses to come out, there were so many, and one was really pretty. There was an extra one that people had mown over and it seemed like it would die, we brought it here, and it is still alive but very thin.
I think the white rose in Australia is called Iceberg.
Our old house had one or two, my aunt had a love for roses and planted many, some of them died on us too, I have forgotten the reason I put it down to. It was nice to see her roses bloom too.
The cuttings we did resulted in many roses in our original house. We were able to give some away. Also my SIL had repeat plantings of a rose and we had some of those and got so much enjoyment from them, it was like an Albertine, also an apricot like the one from the rented farmhouse, but different, kind of an evergreen and tall growing.
I think because my MIL loves roses, this is why we got the cuttings, and the gifts. Originally my dh disliked pruning them, because I guess he had pruned his Mum's in the past. Now he seems to enjoy our new roses.
