Overnight Lasagna
1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage 32 oz. Spaghetti sauce 1 cup water 15 oz ricotta cheese 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning 1 egg 8 oz. UNCOOKED lasagna noodles 16 oz. shredded mozzarella 2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated, optional
Brown beef or sausage & drain. Add sauce & water. Simmer 5 minutes. Reserve. Combine ricotta, parsley,oregano & egg. Blend well. Spread 1 1/2 cups meat sauce in the bottom of a 13x9 pan. Top with half the uncooked noodles, half the ricotta mixture & half the mozzarella. Repeat with remaining noodles,ricotta mixture & mozzarella. Top with remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cover & refrigerate overnight. Heat oven to 350 when ready to bake. Uncover lasagna & bake 50-60 minutes. Remove from oven when noodles are tender & sauce is bubbly. Cover & let stand 15 minutes before serving.
