http://www.b utterflygarden.co.uk/plants/buddleia.htm Buddleia or summer lilac. Great screening plants. I had 7 colors in our last garden, we didn't collect them all. Now I have one, but many more types. Summer lilac is buddleia davidii. They have a beautiful perfume and create a bit of shade underneath as they grow quickly. greenwoodnursery.com/page.cfm/9970You will see on the picture above the honeycomb one. That is one of the others I have, but didn't know what it was called.

I put in a dark purple Black Knight buddleia a couple of months back, Br, and despite the cold it's put on a little growth. The visiting butterflies are a bonus, but the reason I love this plant is the glorious, sweet scent when in flower.

I love the perfume too!
The ones we have had get quite a hard time during frost season here. In September we cut them back when the frosts are finished.
Yours is one of the prettiest I think.

The little yellow one pictured did alot of its growing during winter, so it is a different and good variety.

Yours looks great, Br! Thanks for posting a pic.
My buddleia is now looking quite good. I was concerned that it would die with the lack of water, but it's gone from a couple of sad looking sticks to a bushy plant around eighteen inches or so high and at least that wide, so perhaps there will be a flower or two soon.

Thanks Violet. My baby one is having a second life at the other house. Hopefully it will grow.
