I haven't bought one yet because of frosts, but I think frosts are less severe here. At our old house the tops got a bit burnt, but we cut the dead bit off in the spring. I saw a bedroom with pine furniture washed in blue, in a country style with a vase of plumbago, very inspiring. You can hedge them, we did get the trimmer to it once, and they had grow quite large.
