Our Hydrangea bush is doing so well this year and I would like to save some of the blooms...I tried drying them in previous years but they lose their color...any one ever dry them and know how to save the color?

Jayne,
Hydrangeas are very easy to dry. Just clip them from your bush when they are the colour you wish them to remain. I clip mine in different stages of colour except white.
Place enough water in a mason jar that will cover the stems about 2 inches. Sit them up and when that water evaporates they will be dried and ready for use.
They are very fragile, so take care when you use them. I spray my arrangements with hairspray to help hold them.
If I can help more just let me know.

Thanks Cara.
My auntie had them in the lounge and I adored them.

Jayne, did you dry your hydrangea. How did it turn out? Do you plan to make an arrangement with them? Can't wait to hear all about it.

Jayne,
I just read an article that said you can also clip them in their very prettiest stage, before they start to brown and just tie them on a wreath and they will remain the colour as you cut them. I had trouble with them browning that way, so I used the mason jar with water and evaporation method and it worked much better for me.
