This turned up on the recent Tesselaar Spring 2007 catalogue that I got today. I have been thinking of putting one at our new house.
They are calling it Hazelwood 'Contorta' or Corylus avellana. Also known as 'Cork***** Hazelnut' or 'Harry Lauder's Walking Stick'.
They used to be very expensive in the 80s I think. At the moment $29. I am pretty sure they are grafted.
