This is another of the few flowers that are out in my garden at the moment. This particular one was originally from a part of a beautiful tall plant in my MILs garden. Her garden was established and part of a leafy part of her town. This plant we have had for over 20 years. It was in the ground, then pot, moved house in the pot, then moved here in the pot and planted in the ground. It has just started to look happy and dh put a lovely recycled rock edge around it the other day and it looks really nice and rewarded us with beautiful flowers. It is also called Bird of Paradise. I first saw one as a teenager and was quite taken with it. I also like the tall ones like they have in the Melbourne Zoo. I nearly bought one once, and I would like to do that one day. www.abc.net.au/northcoast/stories/s1300888.htm
