We found some good soil with not many weeds that used to be a very long bed, at our new house. So I have decided on a sunflower bed. I am wondering if it is still a bit cold here yet.

At our old house the sunflowers have come up by themselves from seeds that fell down last summer. They are at seedling stage, so we are thinking of potting them up and taking them there.

That was a good idea in theory lol. We have a row of loganberries, followed by a row of raspberries at the new house, next was the row of sunflowers. Ds and dh struck concrete when digging down. It turned out to be a base of a windmill or tank stand. It took a bit of work but they broke it up and took it away. Next to get the bed finished.
I have found baby sunflowers everywhere. Some already have accidently been transported to the new house with other plants.

It is amazing how many sunflowers came with the soil and plants to the new house, thanks to the parrots spreading them around last year. Two are growing very well in a prominent position at the front of the house in the sun, both colored with stripes. I can tell by the stalk color.
