Just wanted to let you know that I will be away for a bit (more than usual). Ryan and I will be flying out to see my brother in Phoenix and I will be gone from 6/3 - 6/11. The office is now in a full blown panic because I will not be here next week so I'm swamped here already and barely have a minute to breath - can't wait to see what messes wait for me when I get back. Anyway, please send good thoughts and prayers for safe flights and fun times for us. I have a 2 hour drive on Friday night down to the airport and I'm more worried about that than the flights. Ryan and I will spend the night in Raleigh in a hotel and leave my care there. They will run us over to the airport on Saturday morning early!

Not long to go now. I get jealous of anyone who mentions places like Raleigh. It has been mentioned many times in our house because of some of dhs workmates in the past.
I found with trips of 2 hours I am getting better at. I think the more you do it the more you get desensitised to it, hard to explain.
I hope you both have fun.

I am back. The vacation was really nice and I did enjoy the time with my brother and SIL. It appears that my brother's health is declining and he is expected to have to go back on dialysis in the very near future so that made it even more special. He has a rare kidney disease and is currently on the transplant list but it may take years. We enjoyed the scenery so much but I have to tell you that the temps were well over 100 every day and even hit 112 one day. We saw dust storms that were down right scary! We went on a wonderful 4 hour train ride through some of the valleys and canyons and even saw a bald eagles nest on a cliff. But coming home and getting back to my bed is wonderful too. I never dreamed that a vacation could leave me so tired.

It sounds like a place in Australia called Mildura.
Sounds like a great adventure Pat.

Good for you, Pat. Glad you had a nice time and made it home safely.
There's no place like home for me either.
