I had a wonderful time! I left about 10:30 in the morning and took my time. I got there about 3:30 and had time to rest a bit before my friend Rachel arrived.
We ate, and shopped and talked and she told me all about the HS reunion I missed.
I got some great deals - 3 baby showers presents for $3 each at Carter's, some hard back books for the girl's Easter baskets for $1 each. I got myself a couple of tops, and DH some canned tea from Kroger. He loves the tea and we don't have Kroger here.
I arrived at several conclusions following my trip:
1) 75% of the stuff in stores is not anything anyone truly needs.
2) I look at least a good as 75% of the population.
3) Ear plugs are a good thing to have when there are 2 busloads of teenagers staying in your motel
4) There is no point in bringing a bathing suit to use the indoor pool when there are 2 busloads of teenagers staying in your motel.
5) People are in too much of a hurry. People zipped past me (and I was doing the speed limit) through the mountains - they missed the gorgeous beauty of the buds on th trees, the pecans hanging from branches over the road, the majesty of the rocks and the peacefulness of the streams.
6) Being 48 is much better than being 18!

Good to hear your home safely and had a wonderful time. Good bargains and your conclusions are good too. LOL. I would rather be 48 or even 58 (whichi I am) than 18 any time..

People were like that where I lived in 2003. I was always looking at how tall the wattles (trees) were etc.

Glad you had a good time with your friend Cheryl. On the teenagers and hotel, that happen to Jack and I once too down in Williamsburg, Virginia only it was 5th or 6th graders and there were at least 4 bus loads at our hotel! You're right, forget about using the pool! LOL
