There is so much to tell about our 6 week holiday to America/Canada - it was amazing! ;D We met a few people I had met online via another group, and I met a long time friend I had first met on a previous trip to America. I hope this summary gives you an idea of the fun we had!
Places visited: Los Angeles, Chicago, Louisville, Elizabethtown, Seattle, Vancouver (Washington), Vancouver (Canada), Port Angeles (Olympic Peninsula), Eatonville, Wenatchee, and Moscow (Idaho)
Wildlife seen in the wild: orcas, raccoon, Douglas squirrel, ground squirrel, blue jay, cardinal, eagle, turkey vulture, hummingbird, swallows (lots), deer, chipmunks, some more birds that I can't remember!
Places visited on the way: Universal Studios, Chicago Zoo, Chicago Navy Pier (waterfront shops/park), Huber Farm and Restaurant, Hodgenville (Lincoln's birthplace), Mammoth Cave, Peddlars Mall in Elizabethtown, Thomas Edison museum, Pike Place Market, Woodland Park Zoo, Pioneer Square, Seattle Waterfront, Bainbridge Island, Portland (Oregon) shops, Cleveland Dam forest, Vancouver Aquarium, Victoria B.C, Miniature Museum in Victoria, Hoh Rainforest, Ruby Beach, Hoh Humm Ranch, Hurricane Ridge visitor's center, Port Townsend, small farm near Quilcene, Mount Rainier, Spokane, MaryJane's Farm Fair, Farmer's Markets in Chicago, Seattle, Santa Monica and Moscow, bookshops, organic co-op markets, craft shops...
Sometimes we had downpours of rain (mostly in Louisville) so we didn't venture out of our motel room - luckily I had bought books and magazines to read! Other times it was too HOT to do anything - so we sat in the shade in the parks or retreated to bookshops. We had a busy time and lots of fun. I got a lot of inspiration from seeing the farms and markets and meeting people with gardens and chickens and bees!
Will share photos soon.
