Girls,
Do you think doctors keep you coming back more than they need too?
I will not re-schedule an appointment for my doctor just to get test results. I think that is a ploy to get another office call fee, and they can call me with test results. KWIM?
Do you think that the GP's for Family Practitioners send you to specialists too often?
Not me, I think they tend to not send you enough when they should.
How do you feel about nurse practitioners and PA's.? I don't mind seeing either...But my insurances will not pay for NP's. Weird I know. They call that alternative medicine..yea right..won't pay for Chiro's either..

I think I used to get chiro back years ago on insurance, but haven't had that kind of insurance lately.

My GP does nothing but refer to specialists. I could not tell you how many times she has told me, "Well, that's not really my field." If I hear that one more time, I am going to ask her exactly what is your field? I really think she is a first aid, bandage type dr. All of this for a $90 office visit. !!!!!! I've about decided unless I am not breathing or have a very high fever, I am not going back. My insurance pays so little on anything....they won't pay for chiro, PA or NP's. I don't mind seeing them. It was a PA who found my problems a few years back in the ER. I spent 14 days in the hospital and thanks to him, I finally got well.

I truly believe that insurance should pay for alternative forms of medicine, like Chiropractic, herbs, and vitamins, NP, and PA's. My insurance willl pay for my Chiro to take x-rays but won't pay for treatment.

I agree. I think insurance companies think they know "best". For example, a med that my gastro dr prescribed for me....the insurance declined payment because I could take something OTC for it....are they kidding me? If OTC worked, I wouldn't be at the drs office asking for help!
