Uggghhh how I hate them during my "time" does anyone else get them so bad that you have to stay in bed from the pain? The last few times, I have actually gotten sick (thrown up) I was in so much pain from them.

Might be time for a visit and honest talk with your doctor Ellise. When I had those problems back years ago, along with others, I had to have a hysterectomy and it helped me so much. I'm not saying this is a quick fix, nor am I saying to have a hyster...but you might want to talk it out with your GYN.
I know that my dd drinks red raspberry leaf tea I believe it is for cramps and such.

I have heard I think that complex carbs help too. A bit rusty on that one. No, fortunately. Sometimes it is worse that others. Sometimes I get a bit of pain sitting on a hard chair. www.mothernature.com/Library/Bookshelf/Books/10/84.cfmI book I got a couple of years ago is good for our age group. "The Doctors Book of Home Remedies for Women" Rodale.

Oh yes Ellise, I was in severe pain category. For me my hysterectomy was the best surgery I ever had!
But I will say that it took me 3 or 4 doctors before I found one that believed I was in such agony that he finally gave me a prescription for them. Of course being braindead, I can't think of the name of it now as it has been over 4 years since I took any. I agree with Car, talk to your doctor, with all the advancements and different drugs out there now, there is absolutely NO reason for you to be in pain.
Hope you feel better soon. {{{Ellise}}}

One homeopathic remedy that I have found helps a bit. If I take it right at the first pains, Colocynthis really helps. If I wait around or don't have it with me, I usually end up on prescription pain pills and muscle relaxers. Give the Colocynthis a try. I get mine at the local health food/vitamin store.

I'm with the others, speak to your doctor. There are a number of surgical and non-surgical options. Two things I've found that help are heat applied to the abdomen, such a wheat pillow or hot water bottle, and the following exercise:
Get down on all fours, palms of the hands flat on the ground, knees down, back nice and straight and parallel to the floor (think baby crawling). Now arch your back, like a cat, pushing it towards the ceiling. Hold for about 10 seconds, then flatten your back until it's parallel to the floor again. Repeat a few times. I hope I've described this adequately, because I swear it works.

MissViolet, you described it perfectly, and it does work. It works for back problems and pain as well. They taught me this exercise in therapy for my back. Thanks for posting it
