I finished chemo about a year and a half ago. My hair grew back in a steel gray color. Do you know if this is now going to be my "natural" color or will it eventually go away?
They won't tell you these things in the oncology department. They figure you have enough to worry about.
Thanks!

It's probably your new color. The chemo tends to affect the hair follicles below skin level and changes it forever. Some get curly hair when they used to be straight, or visa versa. . . ..
When my sister had chemo years ago, her coal black hair fell out and when it came back in- it was bright red! It's still red over 40 years now. Of course red hair runs in the family on both sides, so she might have gotten red hair later, but it's so funny to see her childhood pictures. Coal black hair, then no pictures of her without hair, then red hair!

Deed, Mother's hair was dark brown and now it's a very light shade of brown almost blonde.

Thank Denise, I figured I was stuck with this awful shade. LOL Too funny about your sis's hair. Mine came back in very curly, I was thrilled, but it went away and now I'm back to stick straight. LOL Oh Ellise, I wish mine would have done that! I am a natural blonde, or was, this color is just so unflattering.

Thanks Lucie, but I have hair now so it isn't anything that can't be dealt with. A bottle of Miss Clairol is on my list today! ;D
