What's happening to me? My thyroid med has been changed to Levoxyl and they've taken me off the potassium. Right after the funeral, I pulled a muscle in my lower back and am in agony. I've been taking lots of Motrin and Flexeril for that. Now I've got swollen ankles and have retained so much water that I look like a beach ball. I'm miserable. I don't have any diuretics on hand and am actually a bit afraid of them. So what do I do? What's causing the water retention? Could any of my meds be causing this?
Help!!!!!!!

Pat~
I am sorry to hear your in such pain with other things going on as well. As far as I know, the Motrin nor the Flexeril will not cause water retention. Not sure about the new thyroid med..I took synthroid for years and never had that problem but since that is a new one on me I am not sure. I bet Denise would know and will probably post to this when she sees it. If not bump it up for her.
I also took diuretics for couple years and I know they can be dangerous. I am sure there is something more natural for water retention if you would like to go the natural route, lmk and I can research it for you.
Hugs and hang in there..You been thru so much..

Hypersensitity to Flexeril can cause edema. . . . ..
fluid tetention and edema are common side effects of Motrin. . .

Thank you. I will lay off the Motrin and Flexeril while also checking out the link and natural cures.
