It's no secret that more intense summer rays can spell damage for your skin. Are you playing it safe? Make sure!
Protect your skin against sun damage by using a moisturizer with SPF built right in. Formulas are available for all skin types, from oily to dry to sensitive. Use enough sunscreen! The American Cancer Society says most people don't. You should use at least a palm-full of sunscreen on your body and a silver dollar sized dollop on your face and neck. Reach for self-tanners and bronzers for a golden glow instead of tanning, which prematurely ages your skin. * Use sunscreen with a higher SPF during the summer months and reapply it every 40 to 80 minutes while outdoors. Look for waterproof and sweat-proof formulas. * Don't be afraid to try several sunscreens to find the one that suits you best. If you don't like it, you probably won't use it! * Put sunscreen on before getting dressed. Harmful rays can penetrate swimsuits and clothing! * Use sunscreen every day, not just when you head to the beach. * Don't get burned by your meds! Some medications greatly increase sun sensitivity. So double check if you aren't sure

In Australia they try to teach us "slip, slop, slap". Which means slip on a shirt, slop on some sunscreen and slap on a hat.
The children have broad brimmed hats for school, and the schools that do this get a sunsmart sign to put outside to show that they care about it. The kids that don't bring a hat have to play on the verandah.
We also have rash vests to wear over togs or swimming costumes. I am used to indoor pools, so it has been harder since we moved back to place with an outdoor pool.
