Do you wake up in the morning with a backache? I used to until I figured out why.
I don't particularly care for our mattress, but Jack loves it. So what I do is take a regular bed pillow (a firm foam type one works best) and place it between my knees long way so that your thighs and calves are supported too.
I sleep on my sides a lot and I have found that it is from my back being out of alignment all night that causes this pain. The pillow lifts up your top leg and puts it parallell with your hip just as if you were standing. Really makes a difference.
If I'm wrong about this Denise or Karen, just jump in and tell me.

Nope Deed, I think your right on. I have slept with a pillow between my legs most of my life. I like a body pillow best as I can lay on my side with half the large pillow between my legs and still hug the other half..It does help with back pain. And also works well for hip and leg pain.
Glad your doing better.

I have one of the body pillows too Car and love it! I used to use it all the time when I worked night shift and Jack wasn't beside me. Can't use it now though, too dang many of us in that bed! Cats girls, cats!

LOL You two are so funny! I wake up all the time with back pain and we all know why! (Stupid doctor!) anyway, I too hate my mattress so we are getting a new one (King sized this time). When we went to Indy last weekend we slept on the most comfortable mattress ever! Well we found where to buy them and that will be our Christmas this year to each other. Oh yea, back to the topic, I have a piece of plywood under my side of the mattress for support and firmness (we have a double pillow top), and I also use a pillow (need to get a body pillow though). I'll stop now, I'm ranbling again.
