We do lots of soy around here, well I should say I do. I use soy milk, soy noodles, soy meats, tofu, etc... and have noticed quite a change in the way I feel.

lynn, I think it is somewhat controversal everywhere right now.... My mother told be to be careful because it has high levels of some hormones (I think is what she said) but I've drank soy milk (off and on) for 17 years and no problems,...yet anyway...

Can you describe what tofu tastes like? Maybe it is like sauerkraut, once I taste it I will love it.

I read some Lynn I hadn't heard of those before. Thanks for mentioning it.
It is supposed to lower colesterol as well. Maybe DH and I can add it to our meals and leave it off the kids meals.
There is alot of soy flour in normal breads here, not sure why, is it like that there? I will check our labels again.

tofu doesn't really have a taste to it, that is unless you get the flavored or grilled etc... kind. I always buy the silkened tofu. i don't like it cooked too well just kind of brown on each side.

Definitely one of those things each person has to decide if it's right for them or not.
After having missed several periods, I was diagnosed with estrogen dominance. Guess what brought it on? Yep, soy. Because it's molelecular structure is similiar to that of estrogen, that's what my body recognized it as.
A nutritionist/holistic dr in area did a segment re young girls, as early as 6 and 7, developing early...soy is in makeup, many of our foods. In our area, we have lots of chicken farms. Hatchlings are ready to be processed in as little as 21 days.....know why? The feed is full of soy, which is recognized as a growth hormone in the chicken's bodies.
We know lots of people who use soy products. I guess we just have to do our own research, pray and get peace about what to use and what to avoid.
