Lynn, there is a medication in the stores called Mucinex. It works to break up the congestion and also assist with the cough. It works well but is a bit pricey.
Also, you might try taking Echinacea (sp).....That will boost your immune system. Can you drink lots of OJ?
Let me do a little research and ask LoriT she is better with herbal remedies.
I think that hot lemon tea helps me and soothes my cough.
I had that nasty virus last April and I coughed many months after that, course I have no immune system with my Lupus. But the cough does last a long time and I felt drained forever.
Hope your perky soon!!

Love OJ, but don't tolerate it very well. Maybe I should try some of that low acid kind.
Thanks for the tips!

First off, Push warm fluids Elderberry lozenges with Zinc
Then if your cough bothers you the most, add horehound If you feel like it is in your lungs or going to your lungs take Mullein.
If it is just the congestion that bothers you you can take Bromelain or fresh pineapple if you can eat it
To build your immune system you should take a good food based multi vitamin daily, adding antioxidants ( A, C, and E) will help boost your immune system as will Omega 3.
Also taking warm baths using Epsom salts, which will help you utilize what your using better.
Hope this helps! I know Lori wouldn't mind if you emailed her to ask more questions. She is really into natural healing.
Love you and Get Well..my prayers are with you
