My blood sugar level has been up lately, (I am Type II Diabetic).
I know I need to get more physical exercise. What do you do and recommend.
I need something light, easier to keep at, and as frugal as possible to do.
I used to walk almost 2 miles a day, but then it became summer and was a hot humid one...so of course I stopped.
HELP!!

well, let's see........have you ever heard of Leslie Sansone and her Walk Away the Pounds videos? It's an indoor walking program that incorporates a more gentle approach to exercise. I enjoy mine. I am just too old to be up jumpin' and gyratin'. no ma'am that ain't happenin'.

WalMart, Sams, Target all carry them. Videos are a little cheaper than the dvd's.....about $6 or $7.

Great, video's work for me as well as DVD's. Gonna check out WalMart this weekend. We don't have Target or Sam's close to me. Thanks Lynn

Car, I have the first WATP tape, the easiest one. And with my arthritis I even have a hard time with that one. About 5 minutes into it I collapse! LOL It is walking in place or more accurately marching. AT the same time you do repetitions with your arms and some kicks, but the 'resting' part of the tape you are back to walking in place again. I have tried to do it at my pace but still have a hard time. Maybe I should get mine back out again and give it a go. Wish I had someone to do it with me, Jack just looks at me like I have 2 heads! He thinks that if you don't do 'normal' exercises it won't help.

I have that easy one too, Deed. I will admit some of her newer releases are more challenging, but honestly I can do that 1 mile very well. Now if you have health issues, I would certainly say talk with your dr before you start any exercise program. Another plus for me with this program is that it is less strenous on your joints than pounding the pavement outside. And sometimes I just walk with the tape and don't add any of those arm movements or kicks. I do notice my clothing begins to get loose in a hurry when I do this easy one mile walk after a couple of weeks. I don't like to sweat.........lol I feel like I sweated enough when I gave birth 3 times. Isn't that pathetic??? Or is it just lazy? Or maybe pathetically lazy???
