On my grandparents land in Mississippi there was a huge pond/lake (to us) and on the banks were these huge trees. we use to climb the tree and tie a rope around a good sixed branch the run and swing out into the water and SPLASH down into the water!. Ahhhh memories of a time gone by

no way! not me! I'm chicken thru and thru. I would have landed on a water moccasin or something equally dreadful..... we had tire swings in the yard and about as adventuresome as we ever got was jumping out of them while swinging...... thanks for sharing your memory!

Oh, I did that. I did fall once flat on my back on small riverstone, but it didn't hurt, I'd say I was lucky. Loved it.
