Ladies:
What ways are you gonna celebrate summer with your kids before the start of school. My kids go back Aug 11, so we don't have much time left:) i'd like to find a lake with some kind of sandy beach -they haven't ever done that kind of thing. we may also have an homemade icecream party. What special things do you do in the summer?

Tamara, those are great ideas! There is nothing as special as the beach! I took two of my boys to my parents' home 2 weeks ago for a few days. It's special there because there is the river and a small beach. We are surounded by mountains over there. I make sure they all have a visit with grandma and grandpa each year. My 3rd son will be going soon for a few days. besides that, I really don't know....this year we weren't going anywhere...so we are mainly swimming in the pool, going to the library and renting movies. I let the boys sleep in the living room on some nights..let them invite some friends over to sleep over. I was thinking of taking them to the movies at least once and visit a museum in Montreal. That's about it..

O.k here's a twinkie update. School is going well. Third grade will be a challenge, it is definately more work, but both kids seem to be doing well. Aaron of course only likes lunch, PE,Music and recess. Gabriella likes it all- except language arts:) Our biggest challenge right now is finding ways to study spelling words that are fun. The words are quite a challenge, like straighten and enormous.
