Well, well, guess what..Pikeville, KY is getting it's first farmer's market..You would think in the land of everyone raises a garden, that there would already be one. But nope...first thing I looked for when I moved here...In Michigan we have a farmer's market run by the County Extension Office... Nothing here, until now. We will have our first run to the local market on the second of July. We will be open every Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9-noon, from July thru October Yippee..fresh produce here I come.

Yea, nothing like being the year 2005 to move into the 21st century..LOL I will keep you posted as to what I find. In Michigan it ran from April~December
You could buy Christmas gifts and ornaments and such.

OUr farmer's markets (we have several in the area) have everything from the usual fresh fruits/veggies/hay and straw bales, to hand made craft items, canned jelly/jams/sauces, cookbooks, herbs (fresh, dried, packaged), fresh flowers. . . . .
I love ithem.

I haven't been to any in our area (though I did just learn of one close by that I'll have to check out someday), but I love the ones near my parents in Lancaster, PA
