Yes, they are yellow turnips or swedes? Or rutabagas.

I bought five, and hope we can make a go of carving them on the weekend. Maybe we can get some tealights to go inside them.

Are they really big enough to carve? Arent they too hard to hollow out? Though I don't celebrate halloween, the whole turning a turnip into a candleholder intrigues me for decoration purposes. I would think they would be as hard as rocks to do something like that too. Please take a photo when you are done ok?

Will try to. My husband is really good at these type of things, and he seemed OK with it, so we will see how we go.

We should have done it this weekend, better get our skates on. Halloween has come up very quickly.
Please don't be surprised when I change the board colors on Wednesday or so. Not sure to go with chickens or gingerbread in scarves.
