I'm thinking of doing a cookie exchange with friends/ coworkers. Have any of you ever hosted one? How'd it work?

I've done them a couple of ways. . . .
One was everyone brought 6 dozen cookies (generally all one kind, but could bring 3 dozen of 2 kinds)-- then we split the cookies between the participants, so that everyone had a dozen of each kind.
The othe way was held with a much larger group. . . . Everyone brought a set amount of cookies- 3 or 4 dozen, then we put the cookies on a counter and everyone grabbed their boxes and we circled the table-- you picked your cookies, but not more than 3 or 6 of each kind. . . after a few circles of the table- all the cookies were claimed and ready for home.
