I had to bust my behind the last 2 weeks before Christmas to make all my gifts. Too much procrastinating on my part. So I am going to leave the Christmas ticker under my name to hopefully make me pay attention and purchase or make gifts ahead of time this year. Anyone with me on this?

Great idea Deed. I guess we should all do this, well me anyway. I was ready but really rushed. Hack and I talked about this very same thing and then we talked about canceling Christmas next year...LOL

I'm with you on this one. I do have a leg up however, I have already purchased two gifts for next year. And have already started on my scarves and hats.
I will also be making Fleece blankets & socks (if I can convince Deed to show me how), and am hoping to make all my decorations for next year!

It sure takes time, but it sure is rewarding to make gifts to give. People really seem to enjoy the handmade things right now. I worked hard on 5 Knifty Knitter fun fur scarves and hand knitted 2 scarves for gifts. It really was worth the work to see the recipients faces, they loved them...or so they told me to make me feel good! Gave my 2 teen cousins those fun furry scarves, made me feel good to know they liked them and wore them right away. This ole gal don't do too bad for the teens. *grin*

Definately-- I have a goal to complete at least 2 handcrafted items for Christmas gifts each month- more when the garden is in season.

WooHoo glad to see you all on board with me and no Car you cannot cancel Christmas! Maybe we can have a monthly post to keep us up on it and like Denise said have a goal of completing so many gifts per month? Tammie I think that is too cool and I'm not old so you aren't either! ;D My 13 yr. old niece must have liked her hat and scarf, she put them on right away and even wore them home! ;D Okay Ellise, I need to do some much neglected cleaning and organizing and then I will show you how to make fleece socks. I think I promised you all a knitting tutorial too? Not sure, I have a really bad memory lately. LOL

Yes ma'am you did. Give me a few more days Deed, we are remodeling the bathroom and have EVERYTHING pulled out except the tub, sink & commode. We replaced the corner shower unit and now have to reset the commode (it's leaking somewhere). Then we will be laying the new Porcelain tile, finish up painting and put everything back in it's place. Whew! I will be so glad when it is all finished.

I need to do this. I buy things all during the year and set them aside, but I would like to make more gifts next year. Sooooo, I better start now!

Deed, I noticed that our banner we left up expired. LOL. Guess we can't count the days this early for next year. Perhaps we can just put it in our siggy line.
