Maybe that's what woke me up so early!
At any rate- the Lions Club/Masons left a food basket on my living room table~ No the doors aren't locked, and I didn't hear them.
In the basket we got:
1/2 gal milk 1 doz eggs 1 chicken 1/2 ham box of saltine crackers package of chocolate chip cookies orange drops (candy) loaf of bread 10 lbs potatoes 2 boxes Mac/cheese can of tuna jar of peanut butter jar of grape jelly 19 cans of assorted fruits, veggies and soups.

That is wonderful Denise. We have a Lions club here I think. I didn't know they are related to the Masons. The 19 cans of food on top of the other things sounds great and the ham too.

Oh - I didn't mean to confuse anyone. The Lions Club and the Masons are two seperate groups. They just work together in our community at Christmas to supply, pack and deliver the food baskets.
They have given us a basket every year since Marty got sick. I told them once that we were not destitute, and that we'd be fine. The answer I received was so touching to me. . . "we know that. . . but we want you to know that we care about you and your family"

Denise,
That is so lovely. I think these type of things that people do for others are what makes this world such a wonderful place to live in. I am glad you were so blessed. Enjoy...
