or what did you do?
I'm not sure about us yet. We'll probably watch movies or play games until the little ones can't take anymore.

Dh and I bought lots of munchies last night and we plan to play some cards or games and play the last round of Christmas carols. I will be lucky if I am awake to see the ball drop in Times Square.
2005 was a very rough year for me so I am not one bit melancholdy to see the old year pass away into 2006.

Well, lets see............... Aside from doing the "back stroke" trying to stay afloat and not get washed down to southern California........not much! Boy, is it raining here and all last night and yesterday!........and more to come! If you've watched the weather on the news you might have seen that California is all "GREEN" (rain!) and I'm right in the middle of it! Don't think I want to do any night driving on these dark, twisting, two lane mountain roads.........so.........probalby stay home and stay dry! I just hope it is clear down in southern Califonria tomorrow so I can watch the Rose parade. I saw it a few times as a kid when I lived down there but, love to watch it on tv. Absolutely nothing can compare to seeing it in person though. Guess I'll cook dinner and we will watch a movie and have some popcon. Be safe and warm Hearth and Homer's........... Happy New Year Everyone!!!

It's New Year's Day here now, and it is still HOT. We went to our lovely neighbours house for New Year's Eve, and saw the year in with them. It was 42.9 C here yesterday, 108F would you believe, so it was a very laid back evening, we were all too hot!
Whether it's to come, or has been, I wish you all a Happy New Year!! ;D

It is hot, and to think on Christmas Day I was cold when we stopped on our trip to family for Christmas. So we have had very few days to get ready for this heat. Luckily I had a new fan last night to help us to sleep.

Hi everyone! I'm at my parents this evening. We arrived around 4 pm. Our plans this evening---the older boys are playing x-box downstairs, I was thinking of playing some card games with Patrick and Pierre and I. My father is right here in the living room watching tv--a music show and my mom, unfortunately had to go to work at the restaurant/bar she works near home. So these are our plans. I hope to stay up, too, until 2006, but not sure I will be able to tough it out. I wish you all a nice and special evening with your loved ones and wish you all a Happy New Year! Denise, I imagine you are working tomorrow?....if so, I wish you a good day at work on this first day of 2006.

BR and Miss Violet - You have reminded me why I will never live in Oz! I could not cope with those temperatures again!
Alister and I were on our holiday (from 26 December) in a little town called Karamea. Imagine the end of the road, literally. Then imagine that before you get to the end of the road you drive for an hour through twisty roads up and over a huge bluff (about 500m high if memory serves). That's Karamea, as far north as you can get on the West Coast, unless you want to walk for 4-5 days (90k) over the mountains to Collingwood, which is a small town at the end of the road on THAT side of the mountains! (We spent our honeymoon in Collingwood).
Anyway, we were at a very nice little campsite which was on an estuary that was pure magic. We could hear the sound of the ocean pounding the shore (can't swim there, too rough).
We met two couples who have been friends for some 20 years (they are also from Christchurch so we plan to keep in touch). We spent NY's Eve sitting around a lantern and a BBQ with burning charcoal for a flame (we were creative! Can't have an open fire!). We welcomed the NY and then were off to bed within half an hour.
