They like to cook with alot of "innards". I remember working with a bunch of women from the Phillippines, they would bring in dishes occasionally and share them, they tasted so good, I just had to ignore the fact that there were innards inside (I wouldn't ask) there Lumpia though is the best.

Wow that is interesting. I think one of my neighbours is from the Phillipines. I haven't tasted their food. I probably would if offered it, but haven't had the opportunity yet.

The stuff that the ladies brought in to share was the "party food" the special dishes they made for celebrations which might probably be better than the every day stuff. I don't know. I love alot of asian food. It is hard to find the ingredients here in France for that though. I used to love to make egg rolls but I cannot find the wrappers here.

Yes, I went through that a few months ago. First we tried the really hard ones, then I thought I spied the frozen ones in the local supermarket's freezer probably when they started getting in more things after it was taken over by a big food chain.
I learnt they were called egg rolls, but we call them spring rolls, not sure if that helps. I think I wrote about it, if I find it I will post a link.

Youre right, I am more used to the term spring rolls but I find alot of people call them egg rolls. The eggs are minimal so I don't understand why they'd be calling them that When I do mine, I finely shred up cabbage and carrots and if I can find bean sprouts, I mix those in as well then use a little egg to glue it all together, roll and deep fry. So good. We cannot get the wrappers here. Only in "china town" in Paris so when a friend of mine goes, I usually have her get them for me. Tonight I will be making a stirfry with the chinese noodles, chicken, cabbage, carrots, and onions with sesame oil/soysauce/ginger sauce. Yesterday I did curry. I love asian food

We have a China town in Melbourne, it has always been a favourite place of mine.
I feel the same about the egg in egg rolls. I have visions of egg being rolled up.
We love Asian food too. When we first came here we have to learn a little of German cooking because the ingredients were German. They have a little Japanese section now which is good, although we have only started cooking Japanese food like miso soup.
What are Chinese noodles like?
This shop doesn't have noodle sauce like we were used to. Years ago we were always marinating meats for Chinese cooking. We miss our gas stove for the wok cooking.

I found a link to a photo on the chinese noodles. These are the kind I used tough not this particular brand. www.hedonisticfood.de/product_info.php?cPath=21_43&products_id=121Eaten plain, they are not good. They have a heavy "wheat" flavor. But they soak up sauces like a sponge and are very tasty. I boiled them first, then threw them in my stirfry.

Thanks cupcake, I have seen those somewhere. That looks like a lovely site too. They have the dashi for the miso soup.
We tend to use 2 minute noodles here. Not sure if they are just in Australia.

We have a couple of favourites with bacon and proscuitto. When I grew up it was mostly peas that were added and salad onion and mint? Turkey is a newer meat to Australia except for the oldfashioned roast turkey occasionally. I love the sunflower pic. One of our recipes has the celery like that one, and it is nice. I hope you really enjoy it.
