Our children usually have their cake and presents. Some go for the large party. Which do you favor?

Our daughters have usually had a big party when their children turned one. I like a little family party. Not sure what Lori's intentions is for LibbyAnna to turn one in January.

Yes, it definitely seems to be very fashionable now. Our second son really wanted to have something big for our youngest's first birthday. He is 11 or so years older than her.

Nope-- just cake and ice cream with immediate family for the first birthday. They only got a large party on their Golden Birthday.
Well, Jake chose to have his party for his 10th birthday, as we didnt' think he'd want a huge party for his 18th birthday.

Well, we didn't have a very big party for each son when they turned one, but we did have a party for each with my parents and my inlaws and close family members. I had made a cold lunch and cake.

When Daniel was younger we always had really big parties, then after about the 4th grade or so he deceided he only wanted a few guests, now, we just go someplace special like a mini vacation. anyway, it is now just the 3 or 4 of us for his parties

We do a family party for the 1st birthday. We go to or have extended family there if we can. With our oldest, we had just been stationed in Panama (Central America) and didn't have anyone to invite. So I invited our neighbor from the next apartment.
