br, I know if you have a slicer and you use the correct blade you can slice the potato one way, turn your potato and slice the opposite and create waffle shaped fries

In the savings catalogue for next Christmas they had a modern french fry cooker, than would be a bit safer to have around kids. It is very tempting. Not sure how you make it good for husbands, maybe using canola oil or something.
It looks like a lovely kitchen thing to have.
