He hurt himself skateboarding. It happened after supper. It's pretty swollen. Tomorrow I'll be taking him to the drs. What do you think? Do you think it's broken or just sprained?

How did it happen? Did he bend it backward?
Can you tap the ends of his toes without him having excruciating pain?
Ice, ibruprofen, elevation are best for tonight---- then see how it is tomorrow. Looks very painful at the least. There are so many small bones in the ankle, that it's nearly impossible to tell without an x-ray.

I don't know exactly how he did it, but it was while skateboarding. He is sleeping now and when he wakes up I'll ask the details. With all the excitement last night, I just didn't get his story right. I panick when my kids get hurt...
I'll do like you said and let you know, We did put ice all evening until he went to sleep. He took tylenol.
I can only take him to the clinic at 2 pm. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks Denise.

It sure looks broken to me Lucie. So much swelling so high up. When my oldest dd was about 18 months old she broke her foot. Lots of tiny bones there..
